Strengthening Aid Information Management
Governments, donor agencies, and civil society all require accurate information on official development assistance to ensure that funds are used effectively. Countries receiving aid seek greater aid predictability so that they can prepare realistic budgets. Donor agencies need information on the activities of other donors so that they can better coordinate efforts, reduce overlap and address neglected areas. Citizens of developing countries, as well as citizens of donor countries, demand information to hold their governments to account.
The Aid Management program builds capacity for aid information management through a combination of Web-based tools, process analysis, and training. The program is based in the principles of the global aid effectiveness agenda, including the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005) and the Accra Agenda for Action (2008).
